Recently, I had been browsing around watching animes and reading mangas; when I realized that a lot of people don't have much to do over the summer.
Like many Otakus (Anime / Manga freaks) often get bored of watching the old anime genres they already know. So to keep myself and anybody else who happens to read my reviews, entertained over this summer by posting reviews on mangas and animes I happened to find good or bad.
This week, I found a really new anime called Kuroko no Basket.
Kuroko no Basket is a sport shonen (boy-focused audience but girls can read it too) manga & anime. From what I had researched the more of the manga had been published than the anime, which is relatively still new (anime just aired April 7, 2012 and still continuing) and only having a few episodes posted online. So far I have seen all the episode currently uploaded, (which is only 10 episode) and I absolutely love it!
Kuroko no Basket is about a basketball team from Teiko Middle School rose to distinction by demolishing all the competition. This team was called the "Generation of Miracles", with a sixth player, another player recognized as the phantom sixth player. Now this mysterious player is a freshman at Seirin High, a new school with a powerful and little known team.
Now Tetsuya Kuroko is the sixth member of the "Generation of Miracles" and Kagami, a naturally talented player from America, aim to make Seirin High Basketball team the best team in Japan, while playing against Kuroko's old teammates one by one.
Personally, I'm not really a big fan of sports-related animes or manga. In fact, I detest basketball because I'm a basketball magnet; whether I play or not a basketball hits me somehow some way, I get hit. But Kuroko no Basket is an amazing anime that gets you motivated to do what you love and be the best!
The characters are also very original and funny; so they play the plot of the story very well when it comes to the intense training to the championship games to being friends. It's also great anime or manga for yaoi (boy-love) fans because it mainly have cute guys interacting with each other but sadly they don't really do anything.
Kuroko no Basket is really great for the summer, because it reminds me of my freshman year in High school and how much fun I had, the new friends I make and how much I grew over the year. It's a really refreshing anime to watch. I sure that this anime will be one of the best this year.
Here is a some pictures of the characters of Kuroko no Basket!
Kuroko Tetsuya, main protagonist is the short boy with sky blue hair; he is relatively weak and almost is never noticed but he have amazing skills that makes him stand out of the "Generation of Miracles" and an amazing basketball player. Kuroko is straight forward and kind of deadpan but it's really amusing because he would always surprise his teammates appearing out of nowhere. So far, Kuroko is my favorite character!
Kagami Taiga, is the really tall boy with dark red hair; he is naturally talented in basketball and have an attitude similar to other famous anime characters mostly Ichigo Kurosaki and Renji Abarai from Bleach . Kagami is sometimes simple-minded, short-tempered and stubborn. However his character really complements Kuroko in comic relief and in the story plot.
This is all of the characters I'm going to review for now because the rest is going to be spoilers for the plot.
New episodes are uploaded every Saturday, sadly I won't watch the newest episode (episode 11) tomorrow (June 16, 2012) because I have a vacation trip with my family. So to those who are already watching Kuroko no Basket enjoy the next episode for me!
